    On December 3-4, the International Conference on Heritage Conservation and Sustainable Development and the Establishment of the International Joint Committee for Exisiting Heritage Conservation was successfully held by the China-Portugal Joint Laboratory of Cultural Heritage Consevation Science supported by the Belt and Road Initiative at Soochow University. The event is held through a combination of physical and virtual platforms. 

    The conference featured keynote speeches and academic exchanges by multiple experts from government agencies, domestic and foreign universities and research institutions, including the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Jiangsu Province, the University of Evora in Portugal, the City University of Macau, the National University of Singapore, the University of California, Adelaide University in Australia, the University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Southeast University, China Architecture Research Institute, China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, Passive House Institute Germany, etc.

    The conference fully showcased the latest progress, research results, industrial applications, and future directions in research fields such as heritage conservation research methodologies and technologies, urban carbon neutrality and zero-carbon buildings, and cultural landscape conservation and urban-rural sustainable development to domestic and foreign experts and scholars. It has played a pivotal role in promoting the construction and development of related disciplines at Soochow University, and further strengthened academic cooperation and exchanges between domestic and foreign universities and research institutes.
