About China Ancient City

Founded in 1987 by the National Ancient Cities Committee, and published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the China Urban Science Research Association, and Soochow University, China Ancient City (CAC) is a professional and cutting-edge academic journal. The journal aims for a comprehensive demonstration of the latest research in modern regional and urban development, urban planning, urban economy, urban culture, urban heritage conservation, etc., encouraging explorations on the conservation and utilization of historic and cultural cities, and engaging with theories and practices on the conservation, construction, management and utilization in fields such as modern urban planning, urbanization, rural revitalization, historic and cultural city conservation.

Soochow University and CAC established their partnership in March 2018, striving for a new platform for reciprocal collaboration, further leveraging their respective advantages in research on historic and cultural cities. As one of the influential journals of JLBRI, CAC will continue to serve as an academic platform for innovation and professionalism. Director Yongfa Wu of JLBRI serves as the editor-in-chief of CAC, and Professor Degen Wang serves as the academic associate editor. Associate Professor Xi Chen is the editorial director of the CAC Soochow University editing department.
