JLBRI is a comprehensive open platform for cultural heritage conservation research and industrialization. Our interests can be briefly (but not Inclusively) described in four parts:
1. Conservation and Utilization of Cultural Heritage
the interdisciplinary integration of architectural heritage and humanities and arts, focusing on the architectural forms, construction techniques, and regional cultural characteristics of representative heritage sites along the Belt and Road. It systematically carries out research on urban renewal, heritage restoration, and green conservation technologies, and establishes a scientific and comprehensive system for the conservation and utilization of cultural heritage
2. R&D of New Materials for Heritage Conservation
the innovative coupling of architectural heritage and material chemistry, with priority on key technologies including the detection and analysis of heritage material deterioration, sustainable conservation technologies for existing buildings and organic urban renewal, as well as the conservation and ecological restoration of cultural landscape heritage. It promotes the transformation of scientific research achievements and accelerates the research, development and industrialization of new materials for heritage conservation
3. Digital Conservation of Cultural Heritage
the full life-cycle digital conservation of architectural and urban heritage. It covers the digital collection, archiving and database construction of cultural heritage information, heritage safety monitoring and early warning, as well as the scenario-based application of cutting-edge technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), supporting the permanent preservation and dynamic presentation of cultural heritage
4. Heritage Conservation Education and Communication
to vitalize international collaboration, and develop projects for the conservation and communication of the cultural heritage of the B&R regions, and to connect with NGOs such as World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and Pacific Region (WHITRAP) of UNESCO for the international education of World’s heritage conservation
