Professor António Candeias, Director of the Joint Laboratory (Évora) visited JLBRI

On August 26-27, Professor António Candeias, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Évora and Director of the China-Portugal Joint Laboratory of Cultural Heritage Conservation Science supported by the Belt and Road initiative (Évora), along with Associate Professor Ana Teresa Caldeira, Deputy Director of the Joint Laboratory (Évora), Deputy Director of the Hercules Laboratory, visited Suzhou for an exchange and discussion. 

Professor António Candeias highly praised the project acceptance work of the Joint Laboratory. He stated that the Joint Laboratory, as a technical cooperation platform for the conservation of cultural heritage between China and Portugal, has played an active role in promoting the prosperity and development of scientific research and education in both countries. The Évora team will actively respond to the development plan of the Joint Laboratory (headquarters), mobilize its cooperation network in countries such as Brazil, Angola, Spain, and Belgium, invite more research institutions and partners to join, and jointly carry out international research on the conservation of cultural heritage.
