

On May30, the trilateral working meeting for the China-Portugal Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Cultural Heritage Conservation Science was held at Soochow University. Representatives from City University of Macau, University of Évora, and Soochow University discussed the laboratory’s development.
Vice-President Zhang Zhengbiao of Soochow University highlighted the laboratory’s achievements and called for trilateral cooperation to prepare for the upcoming Ministry of Science and Technology inspection. He suggested focusing on management integration, network expansion, and interdisciplinary fusion.
President Liu Jun of City University of Macau proposed a three-step strategy: positioning the laboratory in cultural exchange, establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism, and building a Portuguese-speaking countries heritage network.
The three parties signed a supplementary agreement to enhance cooperation in joint research, talent cultivation, and cultural exchange. This marks a new stage of institutionalized cooperation.
The meeting emphasized the need for collaborative innovation in scientific data sharing, technology transfer, and cross-border talent training. This gathering is a milestone for the laboratory’s integrated operations and provides momentum for cultural heritage conservation.
