RESEARCH  INTERESTS

Researches and practices involve architectural design and theory, urban renewal, building renovation strategy, conservation and transformation of historical environment and micro-renewal methods, especially focusing on studies of sustainable design of densification environment and adaptive reuse in recent years.

Sun has presided over and mainly participated in 7 national natural-science-foundation(NSFC) projects, 8 provincial-level research projects and more than 40 design practices, publishing more than 30 academic articles in top journals of Architecture, such as Architectural Journal, New Architecture, The Architect, World Architecture Review etc., as well as 3 published monographs. Sun has also given series lectures at many international academic conferences.
