Yao Wu is the deputy director of JLBRI, and a full Professor in the Architecture School of Soochow University, the Distinguished Professor at the City University of Macau, and the tenured Professor at Jiangnan University (Wuxi, Jiangsu). He has been a Visiting Scholar at Aalto University in Finland from 2011to 2012. 

 

He gained the Doctoral Degree at the School of Architecture Southeast University in Mainland China in 2004, majors in Architecture History and Theory, especially focusing on Theory and Practice regarding Architecture Heritage Conservation， Urban planning and Landscape, Religion architecture Design. He teaches some courses including Architecture Design， Architecture History， Landscape Design, etc.

Currently, Professor Wu takes charge of 10 high-level Research Projects, which are supported by the National Education Ministry, the Chinese National Nature Science Foundation, Jiangsu Government, Macau foundation, etc. Furthermore, he practices architecture and environment design crossing different places including Macau, Wuxi, and some places in Mainland China, he gained several domestic and international design prizes.
