Wang is also the visiting professor and special researcher at Kyoto University, member of the Executive Council of the China Rural Development Society, member of the CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering) Working Group on Conservation and Development of Agricultural Landscape Resources, expert of the World Bank Spatial Planning and Cultural Tourism Development Program, member of the International Exchange Committee of the Japanese Society of Rural Planning, and member of the Japanese Society of Irrigation, Drainage and Rural Engineering. He has published more than 60 papers in international academic journals such as Sustainable Cities and Society, Journal of Urban Planning and Development, Journal of Rural Planning (Japan), Journal of Agricultural Civil Engineering (Japan), and Urban Planning, etc. He has also published several policy research reports in Reform Insider and China Small Town and Village Construction Development Report (Ministry of Housing and Construction). He has received a total of 9 national scientific research awards, design awards, and provincial and ministerial research awards. He has presided over and completed more than ten scientific research projects, including sub-projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program, scientific and technological projects of the Ministry of Housing, urban and rural development, and scientific research funds of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
