Introduction
“Sharing, responding, enabling, leading.” JLBRI aims to serve the needs for communication, collaboration, and development among B&R regions, providing a comprehensive platform for research and industrial entities interested in conservation and utilization of urban and architectural heritage, R&D and application of new materials for heritage conservation, as well as education and international communication of cultural heritage conservation.
Objectives
Responding to the demand of national strategy and regional exchange, JLBRI aims to become an international open platform for technological cooperation of cultural heritage conservation research between China, Portugal, and beyond, connecting global research and teaching institutions, industrial partners, and governmental entities

Space
JLBRI operates physical research spaces in Suzhou, Macao, and Évora, Portugal, with a total floor area of 15,500 ㎡. Its main domestic base at Soochow University (12,200 ㎡) integrates research, experimentation, teaching, exhibition and administration. Overseas facilities at the University of Évora and City University of Macau (3,300 ㎡) form a coordinated, complementary international platform.
