The opening ceremony of the 2025 Jiangsu Universities International Cooperation Week on Industry-Academia-Research-Education was held in Suzhou on October 27. Under the theme "Deep Integration of Industry-Academia-Research-Education: Collaborating for a Shared Future," the event brought together over 300 participants, including leading officials and academicians from 96 universities and research institutions across 34 countries and regions, representatives from international organizations and enterprises, as well as heads of local high-tech zones in Jiangsu.

At the opening ceremony, the Top 10 Achievements in International Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation by Universities in Jiangsu were released. The "World Heritage Database," developed by the China-Portugal "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory on Cultural Heritage Conservation Science, was among those recognized, underscoring the lab's strength in international collaboration and heritage innovation.

Since its launch, the lab has focused on promoting global cooperation in cultural heritage preservation. The "World Heritage Database" is China’s first comprehensive platform dedicated to heritage along the Belt and Road. It features four modules—tangible and intangible heritage, creative products, and map viewing—covering historic buildings, traditional crafts, and more.

Currently, the database includes over 200 heritage cases, 90+ cultural products, and 41 intangible cultural heritage inheritors. Its coverage spans multiple Belt and Road countries such as Portugal, South Korea, and Singapore, as well as various regions in China. Moving forward, the lab plans to expand the database through its global networks, offering smarter digital support for heritage conservation across the Belt and Road.

This recognition highlights the Joint Laboratory's commitment to global collaboration and innovation in cultural heritage preservation. Building on this honor, the lab will deepen cooperation with Belt and Road countries, promote technological applications, and uphold its vision of "bringing heritage into the modern era and sharing Chinese culture with the world." These efforts aim to contribute to a shared global future and set an example for international collaboration in cultural heritage conservation.
